Search for books and articles

  • DART-Europe
    Find full-text dissertations from a number of universities in Europe.
  • ERIC
    ERIC (The Education Resources Information Center) is the world's largest digital database of education literature.
  • Google Scholar
    NB: Avoid using Google Scholar to search for literature in general, as the search service includes many non-scholarly sources and dishonest, predatory journals. You can however use Google Scholar to try to find specific articles and dissertations in full text that you have already found bibliographic information about in Linguistics Collection or MLA International Bibliography.
  • JSTOR
    A collection of academic journals, books and primary sources.
  • LIBRIS 
    A national search service providing information on titles held by Swedish university and research libraries. You can limit your search to dissertations.
  • Linguistics Collection
    Database collection for literature on linguistics and language-related related disciplines. The collection searches simultaneously in the databases Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts (LLBA) and Linguistics Database.
  • WorldCat
    A search service providing information on titles held by more than 10,000 libraries worldwide.

 

Encyclopedias, dictionaries and thesauri

  • Britannica Academic
    Consists of Encyclopaedia Britannica and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, among other things.
  • Oxford Reference
    The database offers a huge range of dictionaries and subject reference works, including Concise Oxford Companion to the English Language, The Oxford Companion to English Literature among other works.

Student theses  

  • DiVA
    Find full-text theses and other scholarly works submitted at Högskolan Dalarna.
  • Essays.se
    Search for full-text theses submitted at Swedish universities.
